Paper boxes...

OK, so I got this idea from Keri's step mother-in-law, Becky. I was able to make these out of scrapbook paper. However, the reason these are on the blog is because, I do not know what to put in them. I made them for Teacher Appreciation Day. They are for Kenzi's teachers, however, I do not know what to put in them. They obviously cannot hold too much weight. And I also don't know what to get a teacher for teacher appreciation day. Help!

St, Patrick's Day...

So awhile ago I got an idea from a friend and wanted to have fun with Kenzi. We decided to make a Leprechaun trap. Kenzi kept telling me that she could catch it with her hands until I asked her what about when she is asleep. Then she thought the trap was good idea. So on March 16th we put out our trap. And this is pretty much what we found the next morning...

The sign that encourages the Leprechaun to go into the trap as they like to do things they are not suppose to!
Our family was so surprised to find that Leprechaun can walk up walls like Spiderman!

And look at all the gold he dropped when he knocked over the trap! There was even a real Gold Susan B. Anthony coin in there! The other ones are chocolate, which Kenzi is just fine with!
Leprechauns are strong as he tipped over our couch and then walked on the back of it!

Though he likes to make a huge mess, a lot of Kenzi's DVDs were on the floor along with Carters PS games!
Apparently he worked hard as he decided to use Kenzi's blanket and took a nap in the Lovesac!
We left the house this way as Kenzi was so floored by what happened she had to show Ben & Ella. She did ask if the Leprechaun went to their house and I told her that he only goes to houses that have traps because we must have something to hide! It was so fun! We did get video on our iPhones that I will try and load too but this will tie you over for awhile! Enjoy! Kari

Working on our yard...

As stated earlier, we worked on getting our backyard a little more usable. To get Kenzi involved we had her wash her dishes as she was happy to do so! And she was pretty good at it! I see potential in her future!!!! :0)

Spending time with Daddy

Carter took some days off last week to spend time with Kenzi and I. As you may know last summer and fall Kenzi was able to go bowling quite a few times. Well, Kenzi became very aware of the fact that Carter never went with us. So Kenzi and I took Carter Bowling. We all didn't do to bad. I think Kenzi beat Carter, but who is keeping track. We also fed ducks, worked on our back yard, and went to an Arts & Crafts fair at Joe Farmer. We had a great weekend with Carter and Kenzi tried to convince Carter everyday that he could stay home. This morning she had a steel grip on Carter's leg. I feel bad for Carter, that cannot be easy to leave in the morning when he knows she would be more fun to hang out with! We love you Carter, and thank you for doing everything you do for us! You are thought of and talked about often! Love ya, Kari!

Gramma post...

OK, so this post is primarily for gushing grammas and papas. Kenzi let me put curlers in her hair last night after we washed it and this is today's outcome. I love when I get to do this to her hair! I am so thankful she had a moment of weakness! Enjoy! Kari

Kenzi has a playdate...

Now normally this is not anything new or special other than all of Kenzi's friends are special. But recently Kenzi and Ella have really started to get along and today when Ella was over they played DRESS UP! Kenzi does not do this very often and unfortunately I am not very good at fostering pretend play, but I am SOO thankful for Kenzi's friends who entertain her in a way only a kid would know how! They had so much fun! Later, Kari!

Carter teaches Kenzi how to blow a bubble...

I only asked that it happen on the tile!

Enjoy! Kari

BYU vs TCU Basketball...

So we have some friends who invited us to a BYU basketball game and we were happy to go. It was an interesting experience. We had a lot of fun and apparently I got to witness the Cougars having a 101 game which only happens 2% of the time in College basketball. And I also got to witness and Adam sports first. Which if you know Adam, he is a huge sports fan and so to experience a new sports first is a big deal! Adam and Tamara are awesome. Carter especially enjoyed the hug from Adam at the end of the night! Love ya, man!! Later, Kari

Arbor Day...

So yesterday was the 10th Annual Arbor Day celebration at the park down the road. I totally forgot my camera and I am hoping to get some pictures from our friends, Keri & Neal, who went with us. So at the celebration there were booths to make stuff like clothes pin butterflies and spiders. Don't worry the spider was with pipe cleaner so I was ok. And as it turns out we were not able to plant a tree in the park because they were out of them by the time we showed up. But the city has a program every year in which you can buy trees for $35 for personal use. So we bought one and we planted it in our front yard when we got it home.

Now Kenzi was so excited when she woke up when I told her that we were going to plant a tree today. She jumped out of bed, went to the bathroom and talked all about it through breakfast! When we got there all she wanted to do was play on the playground. When we got the tree home she was more interested in the free snacks from the celebration that she sat and ate while Carter and I did all the work!

Kenzi showing my her filthy hands from powder doughnuts. Another snack!

Trying to get a family picture of digging the hole for our tree. Kenzi only did this for pictures no other time.

Kenzi found a seed while Carter and I were digging and decided she wanted to plant it. She wanted to dig a hole. So I said dig it. She said she didn't know how to which I said "all children know how to dig a hole". She has dug holes before but for some reason decided she does not know how to do it.

I am not sure why, but I am SOO excited that we planted a tree. I am not sure if it is a matter of I have now claimed my homestead and this tree hopefully will last 20 years or if manual labor is that fulfilling. But we got it in and watered. I think we did a great job. It is a Japanese Pistache, not pistachio. So Carter and I named the tree "Po". And again Kenzi was watching Batman Brave and the Bold and was kind enough to grace us with her presence for a picture.

We had a great morning as a family. Enjoy! Kari

Melted snow people, Feeding ducks, & Kites...

So this picture was taken 8 days after we built our snow people. This was the mommy snow person that was left. After this picture we pretty much stomped on it.

Yesterday after church I suggested we go feed the ducks as we had bread that we needed to use. So after Carter went home teaching and I got a nap, we went to Bethany Lakes. Kenzi was OK with going to the big lake because Daddy was there. So we fed the ducks, geese, pigeons, and crackles. And then afterward Carter surprised us with kites that he got and we flew them. Kenzi was into it until pretty much the kite got in the air. Oh and she loved to walk close to us and inadvertently her kite would get tangled with ours. So after her kite got a rip we decided to bring them in go home and have Cow and Bird waffles for dinner! It was a great afternoon!
