Watch out mommy...

So now that Kenzi is 3 going on 15, she likes to tell me how to drive. On Thursday I was taking her and her friends Wade to Preschool when a squirrel ran out into the street.
"Watch out for the squirrel mommy!!!!"
"OK." We passed it after it had already crossed the street, of course when we saw it it was a distance away.
"Good job MOM!"
"Thank you sweetheart."

I get a vacay...

So it starts on Friday, I am to leave out of Love and my flight is delayed. It is so delayed that I would miss my connecting in Austin. I get my flight switched and eventually make it to So. Cal and meet up with my mom. I go to baggage claim and no bag. So I fill out a report. As I am processing what is going on I realize that I have no clothes for the wedding that is suppose to happened that night. So off the car rental place we went. After insisting that we pay what we were quoted we get our compact car without power windows & locks. Which threw both of us for a loop being as how we both have cars that have remote locks! Then we are off to get me an outfit. 30 minutes to get a dress, shoes, necklace, earrings, and a bracelet. (We know how to power shop!) We then get food and check into our hotel. We have about an hour and a half until we have to leave. So we eat and then start getting ready. I realize that I don't have any makeup or even deodorant! Mom starts spilling her makeup bag and offers me anything and everything. We leave and on the way out I talk to the front desk and ask which to turn on PCH. Left. So we turn left. After trying to find it for 30 minutes, I call Carter at home and have him mapquest it. We get to the parking lot at 5:56. The boat is suppose to leave at 6 pm. As we are walking to the boat my glasses break. There are ramps and stairs everywhere! I am sure I gave the kid at the bottom of the stairs a shot of my underwear going to the floor where the wedding was happening. When you do so you are in front of everybody as you try and find a seat in the back. We were the last two on the boat! Needless to say, the boat took off and the wedding went on without a hitch. It was a very nice service and everyone is very happy for them and we all though "It is about time!" I thought the wedding was very well organized because after the wedding we would go downstairs for drinks and appetizers, then back upstairs for dinner, downstairs for cake, upstairs for dancing. We got off the boat around 11 pm PST and say goodbye. Mitch asks if we are staying the same hotel and then says "Stay up we can party!" To which I was not ready for since I was so tired from being up since 6 am CST. So we went back to the room and passed out! There were moments where I thought I was not going to make it! And with all of the hectic moments, It was so much fun! I think my company had something to do with that!

Here is a picture with myself and Mel! She was absolutely stunning and beaming!

So the Next day, we had breakfast, went shopping, did some more shopping, had a nap, I think, small one, had dinner with my in-laws, and did some more shopping. We had a great visit with my in-laws and JT is just getting bigger. Alex was on a retreat with the Troubadours. My mom took all the pictures because she did not want to be in them. I told she had to be in one with me because part of my trip was spending time with her. And we never got one. The last day we were there, I got to have IN-N-OUT!!! It was so good! Me trip home was not near as eventful as my trip there. It was nice! Oh, I almost forgot, Southwest paid me $50 for reimbursement on buying the outfit since they lost me luggage. And they totally cut me a check when I went to baggage claim! I was really impressed with my flights and how they handled the lost bag. they did try and get it to me before the wedding. I had it in my room about 6 pm on Friday.

So I have baggage claim stories... Really Carter has gotten me into this habit of asking "What is the strangest, funniest thing you have seen doing your job?" I found out that Larry King broke their door because he was mad. Cory Hame (spelling?) came in and declared very loudly, "I am Cory Hame, I am an actor, and you lost my luggage!" They have also found marijuana, and a kilo of cocaine. But the winner is... A guy said he worked for American 15 years ago and a box came in. It was really light but he put where it needed to go and in two days a package has to be opened to take inventory. He puts his gloves on and opens the box. There is nothing in there! Someone points to the back of his hand "Dude!" And on the back of his hand was a Madagascar hissing cock roach!!!!!!!! Yes, he said he did flip out! Apparently it was someones pet. Now someones dead pet?!?!?! Anyway, I had a GREAT time and I am so thankful to have such wonderful family and friends!

And just to show, I am still a California girl living in Texas, I splurged on a sticker for my car. I NEVER put stickers on my car, but I thought this one was cute and had to have it! Later! Kari

Hero Bear

So Kenzi does not seem to get attached to anything in particular. At least not consistently. But lately she has been attached to "Hero Bear" She sleeps with him and eats breakfast with him. (I draw the line there. I don't want to have to plate another meal knowing it will not be touched at dinner!!!) Well every morning she tells me what she wants for cereal and then what Hero Bear wants for breakfast. Needless to say Hero Bear does not always want the same thing. In this picture Hero Bear is eating Golden Crisps and Kenzi is eating Frosted Flakes. I love my little girl, she really does crack me up! Later! Kari

Why Mommy?!?!?!

OK, so I debated whether or not the put this on here, but I think it was cute. Kenzi and I do Meals on Wheels in our community twice a month. And this morning while she was eating her cereal, I was telling her that we were gong to MOW today.
"Why Mommy?" Well, I had to think for a second...
"Well sweetheart, Heavenly Father has asked us to help other people and provide service for them. And this is one way that You and Mommy can help other people and do what Heavenly Father asked. We are taking food to them because they cannot get it themselves."
"Are they hungry mommy?"
"Yes"
"OK"

Kenzi and Preschool

I am so sorry it has been awhile. Plenty happens here however, I can't seem to get myself together to write it down. To be honest I love to write when I have a picture to go with it but this one I don't so I am going to tell you anyway. KEnzi had preschool at Becky's house which is not too far away, so I decided I would take Dax and Georgia with me and we would walk Kenzi to school. Well, it sounded better in my head than it worked out at least on the way there. Dax was being a spaz almost pulling Kenzi and I along. And Georgia and Dax kept getting tangled up. Well, we get there and I tell Kenzi to have a good day and to be nice and talked to another mom at the curb. The whole time I was talking Dax whined and paced trying to get to the house. I finally turned to her and said "Kenzi needs to go to school she will be fine." In which Dax sat and starred at the door but stopped whining! OK, so I found a picture. I am sure that they knew each other in the pre-existence! When Mackenzie first got here, Dax used to put herself between the kid and anyone who visited. People thought it was because she wanted attention, but she would do it every time and never care whether or not she got attention. But I am tangenting - the walk home was much more manageable and both dogs slept well when we got home!

Kenzi story...

OK, so I had some friends over to scrapbook this weekend and I told them this story to which my friend Melissa said that I needed to blog it so when Kenzi has to potty train her little ones she can have her own stories to make her laugh. So when we went to my brother's in Utah, you know the "Utah Farm", on Sunday I went with my mom to her hotel room to pick something up and left Kenzi with my sister-in-law, my brother, and my dad. When I came back and I could not find Kenzi anywhere, I asked my sister-in-law where she was. "I think in Emmett's room." I went jogging in there and said "Hi" quickly followed by
"Hey, do you need to go potty?"
"No"
"Did you go in your pants?"
"No"
"Can mommy check?"
"No"
To which I knew what she had done immediately, because she never says yes to me checking unless she truly did not go in her pants. So I take her into the bathroom and proceed to clean up the mess. To which I surmised by the amount and proximity and the high shower head and low water pressure that this was not going to get cleaned up without making more of a mess in that shower. So I ask my sister-in-law, if they have a hose out back. And what do you know they do. Kenzi and I walk up their hill and go next to the goat pin and strip her down and start to rinse her off with the hose. I thought that she would be upset and maybe she realize she needed to tell someone. But wouldn't you know that she started laughing. And kept laughing until the water got cold!

Really she only had three accidents while we were on vacation. And when my mom was keeping an eye on her for us so we could buy the car, she told my mom that she needed to go potty and they went. While she was going #2 she informed my mom "My mommy is going to be so happy with me!!" Aren't kids sooo much fun! Gotta love 'em! Later! Kari

Kenzi goes to Preschool!!

So today was Kenzi's first day at Preschool. She was happy to go. I am not sure if it was the backpack... the new clothes (with light up shoes, thank you Gramma B.) ...
Or just the fact that she is ready to learn. She asked me in the car on the way "So I am going to learn my stuff?" "Yes sweetheart, you are going to learn a lot of stuff." "Okay!" When she got out of the car she repeated "Hi: to Wade, her classmate, until he replied with "Hi" back. I think she is going to be just fine. Later! Kari

I am in need of some friends though... I have Amish Friendship Bread starters that need a home. I have three so please let me know if you are willing to give it a try, I don't think you will be disappointed. Thank you in advance! Kari
