Kenzi's Hair

OK, So as some of you may know, I don't really let Kenzi hang around in her PJ's all day when we are home. Not because I have a philosophy about it, but just because I love doing her hair and putting her in her cute clothes that she gets from her grammas (thank you!). Well, today we were not going anywhere and usually, on those days I tend to do something that I am not good at and need practice on, so if it looks funny it is OK and I get the practice. Unlike my mom who seems to be able to french braid Kenzi's hair with no problem. She also can braid Ella's hair too! Well I decided to braid her hair today and I thought about looping it back. Well her hair is not quite long enough for it to look like I thought it would in my head but when I got the braids even and she started turning her head left and right, I thought I had
to take pictures, video and then I wanted everyone to see the hair do!
So I know that she is my kid and I think she is completely
edible probably more so than any other person besides her dad and grandparents. But this is her blog, so I get to brag! Love ya, Sugar Pie!

Impromptu water party!!

So my friend Carly & I have worked out swapping babysitting on Tuesdays and Thursdays to give each of us moms some time to maybe get things done. Today, Kenzi's friend Abby was able to come and play as well as Sophie. They had such a great time in the pool. And really what started this whole thing is Kenzi got a Sprinkler Elmo (Thank you Maleah!) and was busting at the seams to use it. So I told her she could use it when her friends came over. Needless to say she woke up and instantly wanted to put on her swimsuit, the one with the flowers! And as you can tell by the few pictures they had a great time. The picture of Kenzi is right after she slipped and went completely under water! She was so proud of herself! Thank you to her friends who help Kenzi to learn how to share and have a good time!! (There Keri, sorry it was not right after you all left!! ;0) ) Later, Kari!

OK so those that know me, know that I have really gotten into making cakes in the last few years. I have made Birthday cakes for Kenzi ever year, as well as, made cakes for my Nephew, Emmett, friend, Liz, and for the Pinkwood Derby in the 5th Ward last year. I have really been having fun doing it. I asked Kenzi what kind of cake she wanted for her birthday and she said a Minnie cake. This was before we decided to celebrate her birthday at McDonald's and since they provided everything I did not want to have too much cake so I held off and made it for Sunday dinner with our friends, Dave & Liz. I always get very pleased when Kenzi knows what it is. And as soon as she saw this one she said "Minnie Cake". Then she looked at Liz and said "That's my cake!" I love you sugar pie!

New Faces at the Dallas Arboretum!

So we went to the Dallas Arboretum again yesterday on the invite of Carly. we went with Keri, Sophie, Teri, and Sam as well as Ben & Ella. They had some people there from the Dallas Police Department. Kenzi was totally fine with going into the big RV looking vehicle. She got very shy when we got close to that motorcycle and she sat in the police car. She would not sit in the back unless I sat there with her. When she finally got into the back and was on my lap she asked what the cage part was. So I told her and I said this is where she sits if she is bad. She did say "Oh" with a concerned look. We then got in line to have the kids faces painted. Kenzi wanted a pink butterfly and that is totally what she got. Ben got a baseball, Ella got a star, Sam got a Light Saber, and Sophie would not let the person touch her face so they put a heart on her wrist. We then went to where the Frogs have a salivation problem and Kenzi loved it. She got the most wet and was the most upset when we had to leave. We had a great time and thanks to my friends for inviting us and helping us to have a good time!

Kenzi celebrates her birthday!!!

Kenzi is another year older and she celebrated with an exciting afternoon at McDonald's. She was able to eat lunch, cake and ice cream, and open PREZZIS!! I think she had so much fun, that she crashed when she got home! Thank you to all that came and helped Kenzi celebrate her birthday! Out of all the pictures that we got I think I like the one of Dave, Sara, and Carter sporting the hats that were for the children! Here's to another year kiddo, hopefully it is even more exciting than the last year! Oh, I so almost forgot, The deal with the catsup foot was that Dekken and Chandler were eating next to each other and somehow the catsup got knocked over and landed down Dekken's leg. The wonder of what children can do!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

So I have been cleaning up my Scrapbook stuff and getting my scrapbook table cleaned off so I can use it and I have noticed with all of the pictures that I have taken that I have gotten pictures with Carter and Kenzi for Father's day and Papa G with Kenzi for Father's day but no pictures of myself with Kenzi on the two Mother's day that I have had since she was born. (She missed Mother's day by 4 1/2 hours!) Anyway, I requested that I get pictures with Kenzi. She was kind enough to oblige me, though the pictures I was going to get was of goofy girl. At first I was not OK with it but then her goofiness got contagious and I could not help but be goofy with her, hence the picture of us looking for land ho! I am thankful for the opportunity to be Kenzi's mom! She teaches me everyday! I am thankful for all of the "Moms" I have had in my life who have been shining examples of how to be a good mom. And most of all I am very thankful for my mom who has been a wonderful mom, a phenomenal grandmother, and friend. So Happy Mother's Day to Gramma B., Gram Mac, & Gramma G. You all play and important part in our family's life and we do not know what we would do without you! Your prezzi's are coming soon! We love you and have a very relaxful day! Love, Kari

Hanging with Gramma & Papa Bailey!

Ok, So I am back tracking a little bit and I seem to be on a roll, so I thought I would put pictures of when Kenzi and I traveled back with my mom and Dad to No. Cal from Silverton, Oregon. We stopped at this place called the Nut Tree. I remember when I was a kid it was a lot like Knott's Berry Farm, not very entertaining for kids. However they have updated quite a bit. Our only problem was that it was a Tuesday and apparently no very much is open on Tuesday before 5 pm. Nonetheless, Gramma and Papa being who they are, had fun riding the BIG rocking horses, feeding some Koi fish, and throwing money in the fountain. Which totally reminds me that my friend Keri was saying the her mom never let her throw money in a fountain. I asked "Why?" Keri: "Becuz it was money!" Later, Kari

Kenzi, the Photographer!

Ok, so these are pictures that Kenzi took. She gets so many pictures taken of her that sometimes she gets insistent on taking a few of her own. I am always interested in what she takes a picture of so I thought I would share. They actually look slightly interesting in black & white! Kari

Dallas Arboretum, here comes Kenzi!!

So yes we have had a busy week. Here are pictures of when Kenzi visited the Dallas Arboretum. My friend, Keri, invited us to go with her and Sophie. It was such a great peaceful day. It was over cast and windy but that made it nice. The humidity did not get to stick around! Kenzi really liked running on the grass with her bare feet. They also have a great little area for children to play with small houses and general store. She loved it. Sophie tried to get in water areas a few times whenever her mom would let her get close to them. They both liked to see the Koi fish in all the ponds. I think that Kenzi's favorite part was the frogs with a salivation problem! Her Aunt Keri taught her how she could put her hand up and splash the water. She was fine until she fell twice and then she was pretty done. My favorite part was the Gazebo we saw after the frogs. It was covered on the outside with flowers. It also had forms of butterflies with flowers growing on them. But what I thought was the best part was when you went inside the gazebo, there was fabric lining the inside in different pastel colors. It was so simple, but very effective. This will need to be something that we do with Grammas when they come to town... Beautiful! Kari

Kenzi goes to the Zoo!

So we went to the Zoo with Kenzi's friends, Ben, Ella, & Sophie and their moms, Carly & Keri. Kenzi had a great time taking the train to see the animals. We saw quite a few animals, including Gorillas, giraffes, otters and more. The Gorilla was really neat due to the fact that he was sitting right at the glass and watching all of the people. I was saddened by the way some kids were acting towards the Gorilla. He would just look away when they were being mean. It is a shame that those children did not know to respect the animal. The kids had a great time playing in the Children's Zoo. They have a stream and even Sophie, the 10 month old, was going to town. She was fine as long as she did not get splashed in her face. Kenzi & Sophie passed out on the train on the way home. So I figure it was a very successful day! Later! Kari
