Utah in a nutshell...

So as most of you know Kenzi and I made a trip to Utah for a week to visit with my brother and his family as well as my parents. We had a such a great time! Kenzi so loved playing in the snow!

Here is Kenzi and Aunt Shauna building a snowman which Kenzi named Frosty and asked Aunt Shauna if she had a magic hat.
Papa thought the Dale Earnhart hat was nice touch.

Cutest snow girl I have EVER seen!

We went sledding/tubing one day. After the first time going down, Kenzi was done because her and I had a difficult time getting up the hill. But through some coercion from me she went with her cousin Kayla, and Uncle Mike. Though Uncle Mike had to promise that he would carry her up the hill. So she liked it the last two times.

Me and my girl!

Gramma & Papa with the grand kids. Papa just watched while gramma went a couple of times.

The previously mentioned preferred mode of transportation up the hill!

I love my niece, Kayla to pieces, but there are times where she is REALLY special. Getting herself stuck in the tube is one of those! Love ya, Kayla!

So while we were in Utah we also went swimming. Notice the snow in the background.

Kenzi being not afraid of the water anymore. I think swimming lessons are very necessary now!

I did all of the girls hair on Sunday. They all looked beautiful!

Uncle Mike letting Kenzi drive his truck home from church. I tell ya, those rednecks!

And yes, she hugged the steering wheel pretty much the whole way home!

Emmett had a spelling Bee st school the day we were leaving. I kept waiting for the kids to say "Definition, please", "Use it in a sentence please", or even "Can I have phonetic pronunciation please?" But no, they all just got up an spelled it.

We really did have such a wonderful time. Thank you to my brother and his family letting us invade! I love it when we get together! Enjoy! Kari

Kenzi moves up in primary

Every year in church the children's program changes classes according to age. So this year Kenzi went into CTR 4. I always take a picture of her on her fist day because she seems to change so much in a year and I just don't get enough pictures! She still looks adorable! Enjoy!

Stars vs Blackhawks

So since Kenzi is such a Blackhawks fan, not sure why, we decided to go to a Stars vs Blackhawks game. And since in our own family there is a division the odd man out, in this case Carter, goes half and half. Notice the red and green hair! Here we are taking the train as there was a snow storm going on in Allen.

We had a fourth ticket so we brought Shanette with us. She had never seen a Hockey Game before. I think all in all she had a great time.

Us trying to get a picture with Kenzi but she was not cooperating!

Us getting our photo after the game. Notice the blackhawk fan in the background. We actually knew he was going to do that and Carter got all excited and said he was going to put it on a website called the chive that does photo-bomb photos. Which is people getting in a picture like they are suppose to be there. Yea, I am not sure either! Carter finds the most random websites!

Our family shot of A house divided, stays together! We love hockey and had such a great time! The Stars won 5 to 4, which is the amazing as the team is in a building year. Yep that is the story I am sticking to.

A better look at Carters hair. And Kenzi had to get in and like we are going to tell her no! Enjoy!

SOS

I am taking a break from updates to give you a Kenzi story...

I was needing to get ready so I parked Kenzi in front of the computer. I introduced her to a new website, zooborns.com. Carter actually brought it to my attention so I showed it to Kenzi, which she loved. It is a website that has pictures and videos of newborn animals at zoos and national parks. I then went to take a shower. I get out of the shower to this note that had been shoved under my door. I then ask Kenzi about it. Apparently it was a note to me explaining that she needed help and the computer was stuck. To which I did help to correct her problem. I just thought this very interesting! Enjoy!

Snowball fight!

So Christmas Eve Kenzi kept talking about how she wanted to have a snowball fight. Well after she went to bed Carter went out and made some snowballs and kept them out side on our front porch. So after opening presents we bundled up and went outside to have our snowball fight. As you can tell I got hit a couple of times.

Kenzi made a snow angel and thought that was pretty cool!

Kenzi and Carter played a lot longer than I. I had to get a picture of two of my most favorite people!

Said snowballs! To say the least Kenzi was VERY happy about being able to have a snowball fight. Anytime she sees frost she asks to make a snowball! Enjoy!

Christmas Morning

Merry Christmas from the Garvins!!!

Well, Christmas morning was a hit! Kenzi got the bike and batman toy she asked for so she still believes. She was very good while we got everything together so we could capture the moment of joy!
Kenzi checking out her new bike!
Checking out the stocking of stuff that Santa left!
Kenzi being goofy!
Oh my Gosh!
Look at all of those candy canes. What do you think the over/under is on finishing those before the end of January?

Mommy and Daddy gave Kenzi a Blackhawks jersey for Christmas. She was excited!

Christmas Eve

So on Christmas eve we got a snow storm. Carter wondered if it was a miracle or not. I think it was. It was absolutely beautiful! I know my family in Utah gets snow all the time so they are probably sick of it, but I love it when we get it. The dogs were not sure what to do with it.
This is Kenzi's house with a layer of snow. I love how the snow is even in her name!

I love this picture because you can see the snow fall!

Here is pretty much our front yard and part of our neighbors. He used LED lights. Maybe we will convert some day.

I love this picture because it looks like our walk way is on fire! Enjoy!

December Activities...

OK, so it seems that there is a direct correlation between the amount of pictures I take to how quickly I post. So I am doing a little catch up. These pictures are a little out of order but I think it really will be OK!

This is my little/big girl on her way to skating. Everyday I can't seem to get over how big she looks to me!

This is a gingerbread house that Kenzi made at school. I am impressed with the dedication that her teacher goes through. She actually gave us left over dough to make a gingerbread cookie. Now whether or not we did it is a whole other conversation!

I came a little early one day to pick Kenzi up so I was able to watch Kenzi play in the playground at school. This is the school resident bunny. I am so glad that Kenzi is at a school that has so many animals. She loves them and talks about them often!
My best friend, Keri and I took our children to the Dallas Arboretum one fine winter afternoon. We bundled up and had a great relaxing time. They had a Nativity exhibit in the house that is on the property which was amazing! And Kenzi got accolades from one of the docents for not touching anything! I guess my girl CAN be good with me!

Kenzi's friend, Sophie! Sophie adores Kenzi. We call Kenzi peat and Sophie repeat. Sophie will do anything that Kenzi does. So hopefully Kenzi will not jump off a bridge! You might think that I am exaggerating, but when it is time for Sophie to leave our house to make it easier on Keri we walk out with her and while Rhys gets put in the car Kenzi and Sophie will run around the front yard, even if it is 25 degrees. Then when it is time to put Sophie in I ask Kenzi to come over to me and without a word to Sophie, she follows Kenzi and we are able to get Sophie in the car. Just ask Keri.
