For Gram Mac...

Hey Look, our flowers and plants are STILL alive! Yippee!!

On the way to church...

On the way to church we had Kenzi's Sunday playlist on and she was singing one of the primary songs that she will be singing in the program this year. When we got to church, I told her that she was doing a great job on learning the songs and I could hear that she knew the words. To which she said... "Yeah Mommy, I am learning songs so I know that I lived with Heavenly Father a long time ago!" I Love these moments! Kari

Dinner with Friends...

So an old friend of Carter's was in town and we were able to meet up with them for dinner. Amy and her husband, Mark, came to the greater Dallas area to experience the Train museum at Fair park and another train that I am not remembering right now. It was the first time that they have seen Kenzi and they were smitten by her as most people are. Unfortunately, Kenzi was asleep in the car on the way there and it took awhile for her to wake up, but once she did she reminded us that Mark likes trains and asked Amy when we were leaving, "Do you like Winnie the Pooh?" It was great for them to take time out of their vacation to visit with us! Thank you Amy & Mark and hopefully we will see you again soon! Kari

New Carpet...

We got new carpet! I love it. We only got it in the living room but OMGdness I love it! So here is the before...

And now the after...

We actually have enough of a remnant to do one of the bedrooms! I am excited to get that switched out too. For my local friends if you need a referral, email me and I have one for you! Later! Kari

Concert in the Park

So I am a week late but our family met up with Neal & Keri's family and we went to Bethany Lake Park and heard a band play. It is an event that Allen does every year about this time and it runs for about 6 weeks. Kenzi had a great time running around. At times it was like playing Where's Waldo. It was great that she was wearing her Crosby shirt with the big 87 on the back. (Go Pens!) She was easier to spot amongst all the kids. Though she had a hard time keeping track of where we were sitting. We had to keep flagging her down when she was coming back to us! So her sense of direction is messed up. Good thing she is cute! Enjoy! Kari

Batman Birthday Party...

I am very sorry for the long slide show, however, Kenzi had a Great Birthday party! When her friends got there, they put on there capes and masks (the capes were a bigger hit than the masks)! We then welcomed everyone and started with a game of Batman toss. Then Spider drop, which everyone seemed to be really good at. Then we had a rousing game of "Batman says" and "Batgirl says". "Batman says" kept getting suggestions, like, hop and flap like a chicken! And then we had a special visitor! Batman himself came to the party! He played Duck Duck Goose with the children, helped to sing Happy Birthday, and looked on as Kenzi opened presents! Apparently Kenzi enjoyed getting her picture taken with Batman. After she was done she told Carter "Daddy I got my picture with Batman. I want to put it on my blog!" It was funny when Batman showed up, Kenzi was very timid but very respectful. When he got there she wanted her cape and mask on. And of course she wanted to sit next to him whenever possible! When I asked what her favorite part was she said the presents, cake, games, and with some prompting, Batman. Hopefully everyone that came had a great time as I know that Kenzi did! Thank you to Rusty, Julia, Briana, Jake, Braden, Wade, Isabel, Haley, Abby, Ty, Jilian, and Sophie for helping to make Kenzi's birthday special! Later! Kari

Carter's favorite pictures are the ones with the setup in the Garage, penguin in the background (surprise!), and Kenzi looking at the table of goodies!

We went to the Rangers/Mariners Game...

So Carter was able to get tickets for the Rangers game for $15 a seat. And it happen to be $1 Hot dog night. We met up with a bunch of Carter's co-workers. Kenzi seemed to have a good time but she was not as involved with the game as she is with Hockey. We had a really good time. At one point Carter said to me "You are so quiet?!?!?!" "It is a baseball game!" Enjoy! Kari

Kenzi's Birthday fun...

So the dreaded day has come where I realize that my baby once again is not a baby! But here are some highlights from her day! Enjoy!

Carter and I decorated her tent that we just put up in the living room. We were going to get up before he to video her seeing it for the first time. We woke up to "Hey daddy, how did you do my tent?" So we had her come in the room I got up to get the camera and Carter was telling her the she gets to have a special Birthday donuts. (Ones with sprinkles and gummy worms. Sugar, sugar, and more sugar. Sorry Becky for sending her to preschool like that!) To which Kenzi's reply was "DUDE!"

Opening presents from grammas and grampas! We were more than happy to open presents!

Having cupcakes at preschool with her classmates. When I got there she told me that her friends forgot to sing happy birthday to her, to which, I said that they were probably waiting for the cupcakes.

After cupcakes she got to play a little longer with her friends. I really think if we had a trampoline she would never get off of it!

We met Sophie and Aunt Keri at Story park. She had so much fun playing and making new friends.

To cap off the day, she played Cosmic Family on the wii with Daddy. She really didn't want to go to sleep, but said that her favorite part of the day was the cupcake. Sounds about right!
Happy Birthday bunkin, bug-a-boo, fluffy, silly, goofy, Princess, M&M, George, Phineaus, Kenzi!

The funniest thing...

So my friend, Dave, sent me this video clip link and I had to do it for a few of my friends. I thought it was fantastic! Enjoy! Kari

Happy Mother's Day Grammas!

So Kenzi has been practicing a song that she would like to share with her Grammas! We Hope that Gramma B., Robyn & Gram Mac have a wonderful Mother's Day! You are very loved and thought of often! This also goes out to every other mom who just needs a smile! Click here to hear the song the way it was intended. Though we love Kenzi's version too! Enjoy! Kari

I had a great Mother's Day! Kenzi and Daddy woke me up with cards that played music and a digital photo frame. We went to church and Kenzi sang with the Primary in our Sacrament meeting. We were going to have a picnic in th park, but due to the weather and it stil being wet outside, we had it in our living room! It was fun and thank you to Kenzi and Carter for a wonderful day!

Our baby is turning 4!

OK, so I know that for most of you this is no big deal as you may have children who already are teenagers (Uncle Mike) and even have grandchildren (All grandparents everywhere). I am amazed once again that Kenzi is going to be 4! She has been so much fun and continues to amaze and try me every day! She is having a Batman party this year! And she is very excited for it to get here too! Here are her last four years...

Newborn

Age 1

Age 2

Age 3

I can't get over the change that happens in just four years. She is turning out to be such a fun little girl and is ready for everything. Well, except thunder storms! We are very thankful for having her in our life and love watching her grow! Thank you to everyone for showing such love to our daughter. She is a very loved little girl who loves in return! Her fourth year picture will be coming. Later! Kari

Dallas Arboretum - May

On Friday we went to the Dallas Arboretum with Sophie and Aunt Keri. We will probably have a lot of pictures/posts this year as we have a membership to the Arboretum. We really like to go and have a good time every time we do. And Gram Mac, they are bringing back the Butterfly Gazebo. Well at least I think so as they were putting together the Gazebo near the Butterfly bush Kenzi and Sophie are in front of on Friday. So the next time you come out we will have to show you. We had a great time and look forward to so many more! Enjoy! P.S. If I have local friends that would like to go, please let me know. We have a family membership and if we go during the day we can take up to 4 other people. Three and under are free! We would love to take you!

Today...

So Kenzi is attached to Carter right now and where ever he goes so does she if at all possible. Carter was grilling Dinner tonight and I found this...

Really, I didn't think it was that hard to ride her bike in our backyard! Oh, I love my bunkin! Kari

Batgirl and Cow Batgirl...

Cowgirl Bat? Cow Batgirl? What would you call it? Well other than adorable! OK, So we see Sophie a lot, really at this point she is a surrogate daughter/cousin. Kenzi and Sophie play so well together that I do wonder if they knew each other in the pre-existence. Anyhow, here are some fun pictures of the two. Not sure what the swords are about but they were loving it! Enjoy! Kari

Easter

OK, so I am now posting pictures of Easter. I apologize for my punctilious nature in which I have to represent the past before I can move on to the present. So now I have gotten to Easter pictures. The outfit is compliments of Gram Mac and Kenzi grew about 5 years! We had a very quiet day at home and church. Kenzi actually said the scripture and prayer in Primary. She did such a great job! I am so happy with the development that Kenzi is making. She loves the songs in Primary and was so excited when they sang a song that her and I have been practicing. Thank you Gram Mac for the adorable outfit. And we hope that you had a wonderful Easter. Also below is a video of Monday morning when the Easter Bunny came. (Gotta love the Dog with the bunny ear pajamas. Thanks Gramma B!) Enjoy! Kari

Dallas Arboretum

Another fun thing we did with Gram Mac was take her to the Dallas Arboretum. We figured that she would like it given that she is a Florist. We had a great day Wednesday with beautiful weather. It was so peaceful and fun. Kenzi did a lot of running around. They also have a Storybook series going right now where there are house depicting Storybooks. So the picture with Kenzi steering the ship is Captain Hooks boat. We got some really great pictures of Kenzi and Gram Mac together. Really if you have a chance to go (especially if you are a female), you should go. Later! Kari

Gram Mac brings life to us...

While Gram Mac was visiting we went to a Nursery and picked out some flowers. It took me about ten years to realize that Gram Mac always bring life into our lives. And for that I am EXTREMELY grateful. Whenever we have stayed at her home she has always had a vase of flowers in our room. And whenever she comes to visit she buys flowers for my table and my home. It was such a great experience for Kenzi to help Gram Mac plant what we bought. Kenzi is so proud of her flowers and tells anyone who listens that she has pink and purple flowers. Thank you Gram Mac for loving us so much and helping to make memories with Kenzi. She knows and loves you so very much! Kari

Gram Mac visits...

We were fortunate to have Gram Mac come out for a visit. It was just a couple of days but we had a great time! Included with this slide show is a trip to the Park, pictures with Gram Mac, and showing Gram Mac that we can skate. Kenzi had such a great time and did really great showing Gram Mac that she can skate! We went all the way around the ice rink in 20 minutes. Last time it took 30 minutes. We had a such a great time and very much look forward to the next visit with Gram Mac! Thank you for such a great visit! Kari

San Jose Children's Discovery Museum

Another fun thing we did while in California was meet my Cousin Sheri and Kenzi's 2nd cousin Paris in San Jose at the Children's Discovery Museum. The girls had such a great time. It was a long day and we spent most of the day there and then went and saw a movie and had Dinner. But they got to do lots of fun things. They got to paint their own faces, which was very interesting. Kenzi almost got her eye. But then as soon as they were done Kenzi wanted it off her face. They played with bubbles, fire trucks, Pizzerias, and Paris even made a Corn husk doll. I was extremely impressed by her doll! Thankfully Kenzi fell asleep on the way home and even stayed asleep when I got her to bed. I think we sufficiently wore her out! Thanks for the great time Sheri and Paris. We will have to do it again when I come back to town! Kari

San Francisco...

So while we were visiting California, Gramma B, Kenzi, and I went to San Francisco by way of Ferry. We had such a great time and really the Ferry is what made it. Kenzi took a nap on the way home and Mom and I played Scrabble on my Palm. How the times have changed! It was fun to play on Pier 39, see the Seals, and Kenzi loved going on the Merry-Go-round with Gramma B. So we decided that we would do this every time we go back to visit! Though one of these visits when Carter comes we need to go to Alcatraz! Thanks Mom for such a GREAT time! Love ya, Kari
